Turkish-German actor Barış Atay entered the Turkish parliament from the HDP list, as an MP of Hatay. Atay is known for his banned play “Sadece Diktator” which he performed in Germany and Austria.

Around 250,000 Dutch Turks are eligible to vote in Turkey's upcoming elections. Yet, many of them are often criticised for not being as engaged in Dutch politics.

Austria closes 7 mosques and expels 40 imams employed by ATIB, a group that oversees Turkish mosques in Austria. Turkey has criticized this measure, as Islamophobic, discriminatory and racist.

Eligible voters across Europe have begun to cast their ballots in Turkey's general election. It is estimated that as many as 3.5 million Turks living abroad can participate in the votes both for President and for a new Parliament. The largest Turkish community is in Germany.

More than a million Turks living in Germany are entitled to vote in Turkey’s upcoming election. For many of them, the vote comes down to whether they are for or against President Erdogan.

Canada awarded Medal of Bravery to Turkish restaurant owner Riza Kasikcioglu, for saving half a dozen lives in a fire at an apartment complex in Edmonton Jan.19, 2017. Kasikcioglu was hospitalized after his heroic effort. His award ceremony was held on June 2018.

Tokyo Camii or Tokyo Mosque, which is also the Turkish Cultural Center, is one of the largest mosques in Tokyo (and in Japan). Tokyo Camii is visited by, not only Tokyo residents, but also by foreign tourists. Either they come as pilgrims who want to pray, or just look at the beauty of the architecture.
