The Trump administration slapped economic sanctions on two senior Turkish officials over what they say are trumped-up charges on an American pastor being held by Ankara. The US Treasury Department targeted Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gul and Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu marking the first time such sanctions have been levied against a NATO ally.
