France 24: Turkish offensive in Syria: Assad's forces enter Afrin to aid Kurds against Turks. State TV and UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that pro-Syrian government forces armed with heavy machine guns could be seen entering the area to help the Kurds fight back.

Syrian pro-government forces are expected to help Kurdish militias defend the city of Afrin. It follows an alleged deal between Damascus and the Kurds. Under the agreement, pro-Assad troops will help Kurdish fighters repel Turkey's offensive in the region.

Turkey has repeatedly accused Gulen of planning the 2016 attempted coup and of heading a group known as the Fetullah Terrorist Organisation, or FETO.
