Pro-Kurdish demonstrators burned an #effigy of Turkish President Recep Tayyip #Erdogan at a rally attended by hundreds of activists outside the Turkish consulate in #Milan on Saturday. The town of Tel Abyad was one of the first areas to be cleared of the YPG terror group as part of Turkey's Operation Peace Spring in northern Syria. But, Turkish and allied forces there say they're still working to find suspected terror cells in the area. Germany's Defense Minister has put forth a plan for the future of northern Syria. Annegret Kramp-Karenbauer's plan calls for an internationally patrolled security zone in Syria along the border with Turkey. That's similar to what Turkey says it wants to achieve with its own incursion. The difference is that the zone proposed by the Germany defence minister would be under international and not Turkish control. Kramp-Karrenbauer is seen as a possible successor to Chancellor Merkel. She says she has discussed her proposal with Merkel and put it to Germany's western allies.
