Our Story

2018

Campaigns

The year started with our "We are all Deniz" campaign, designed to rally our international readership for the release of Turkish-German journalist Deniz Yucel, who was held at a high-security prison in Turkey without a charge for a year. 

As he and many other imprisoned Turkish Expats suffered from the 'agent-terrorist' slanders in Turkey, we fought to clarify the misjudgments and clear the smear on our humble expat lives.

As our news defined the character of International Turks, the cases were dropped one by one, showing the significance of our publication and the power of our network.

Turkuaz is the premier source of community news, celebrity interviews, fashion and lifestyle of International Turks around the world.

The mission of Turkuaz is to provide an ongoing forum in which Turkish Expats can connect, share and inspire one another.

Since its first issue in 2002, Turkuaz has evolved from a community-oriented quarterly in San Francisco, to a cultural publication in the US, and now a digital video-magazine that caters to the collective experience of Turks living abroad.
