2020

Nurhak Haber

We welcomed 2020 campaigning for the release of imprisoned philanthropist Osman Kavala and many other Turkish expatriates, known for being well-versed in the Western world.

While the global press views Kavala's case and all other mysterious cases of prolonged imprisonment in Turkey as unlawful or full of fallacy, we assessed the problem as stemming from the disconnect between the Turkish expatriates and Turkey.

In hindsight, we believe that it is the fast-paced changes in the Turkish political arena that make it hard for Turks abroad to adapt to the rule of law. With that assessment, we saw it our duty to launch a website to better educate and inform the Turkuaz readership on politics in Turkey and started publishing a video-magazine under the title Nurhak at www.nurhak.biz, accompanied by a daily Twitter blog at @NurhakHaber.

"Turkuaz gradually became an international name and a welcoming platform for Turkish Expats worldwide. I can only be proud to have initiated such an influential movement."

Turkuaz Magazine

Turkuaz is the premier source of community news, celebrity interviews, fashion and lifestyle of International Turks around the world.

The mission of Turkuaz is to provide an ongoing forum in which Turkish Expats can connect, share and inspire one another.

Since its first issue in 2002, Turkuaz has evolved from a community-oriented quarterly in San Francisco, to a cultural publication in the US, and now a digital video-magazine that caters to the collective experience of Turks living abroad.
